I know most of the guys that come from 40k or Warmachine expect a decent quality, and it's what keeps a lot of them out of Flames of War or Bolt Action. Well, that and the rulesets, but GB has a great ruleset.

And I'm not arguing that they can't be painted, a lot of people painted theirs up just fine. I'm saying what you get to work with is crap, and the effort involved to get it up to the same point probably isn't worth it. I recognize that not everyone is going to achieve Games Workshop quality models. The issue I have is that SFG already achieved pretty high detail and quality, and now they're stepping back from it. This is reminiscent of GW's "Finecast" attempt, but SFG's crowd probably won't produce that kind of backlash.

The review isn't whether individuals are ok with crap quality, it's simply saying that they're crap quality. I consider myself one and I think they are fine. In fact, after starting with Kick Off (and just Kick Off!, not "The Kick Off!") and recently buying the Fishermen 6 player boxed set I had quite the sticker shock.

To each their own. I've had miniatures I decided weren't worth the effort to paint and it's up to each person to set their bar. Here is what my Kick Off miniatures look like painted: http://tyler.provick.ca/gallery/fantasy/guild-ball-gallery/Coyotebdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08509083931128526136noreply@blogger.com
